Yes, rumors circulated on social media which claimed the dance-hall chanter had “died shortly after a car accident   from the injuries he sustained in the Gweru accident. But his manager, Wadis, says its all a load of nonsense. He posted this pic of the chanter hobbling into a car.

However it soon became apparent that  Chibaba, much like Winky D and Tocky Vibes before him, had become the subject of a cruel death hoax.
