Jah Prayzah reacts to pfuko maheu joke
Following the release of his new video Chikomo, Jah Prayzah has been the talk of town. The video was received with lots of praises and most people congtatulated the artist for a job well done. However as is the nature of people in Zimbabwe some humour was rubbed into the whole issue.
Some fans posted a photoshopped picture of Jah Prayzah with his head placed on top of a bottle of pfuko maheu and his arms on the sides and legs beneath the bottle. It seemed to be a remake of the long white gown that he is seen wearing on the new video. Indeed people were quick to licken the garment to a bottle of buttercream flavoured pfuko maheu.
Jah Prayzah responded to the picture by calling on Dairyboard Zimbabwe to send him some of their delicious maheu so that he could enjoy after his fans had made a mockery of his outfit using their product. His wish seemed to have been granted as Dairyboard invited him to come and get some maheu.
The controversial gown was first revealed to the public eye when Jah Prayzah posted a picture before the release of his new video. It immediately generated interest with others likening it to a gown worn by members of the apostolic sect.
There was even a challenge where people posted themselves wearing all kinds of odd looking white gowns. It was only after the release of the video that people were able to see the Nexus between the video and the photo that had been posted earlier on.
Chikomo is a spiritual song that highlights one’s struggles in life and the salvation that comes with prayer. It was shot in Kariba and Nyanga and directed by Blaqs. The video is a masterpiece and will surely be a top contender on both the local and international music scene.
