1. Nap at the same time daily

Get your body used to the same time schedule by napping according to the time that you wake up. If you wake up at 4 or 5 am, nap at lunch time, while if you wake up at around 9, nap at around 3 in the afternoon.

2. Set an alarm

Set an alarm so that you don’t oversleep especially if you are napping at work or during breaks at school.

3. Find your napping place.

Find an ideal place where you can take your nap. Ideally a dark, quiet and comfortable place. Secure yourself a nice pillow for your neck and for those chilly days a small blanket.

4. Eat before napping

The best time to have a nap is after having lunch. By eating first, you will be less likely to be woken from your nap by hunger. Have food that is high in calcium and protein, which promote sleep.

5. Keep your naps short and sweet

Ideally a nap, often called ‘power nap’ should be between 10 to 20 minutes. The nap should be short so that you are able to quickly wake up. It is also important to keep naps short so as to prevent you from having disruptions in sleep at night when your body should really rest.
