Zim’s plus size women

Whilst being skinny is considered healthy and attractive in Western countries, the same cannot be said for African ladies. A big, curvy and voluptuous woman is seen as a true representation of African beauty.

Zimbabwe boasts of a number of women that are blessed with physical ‘assets’. Appreciation for such beauty has even led to singer’s like Andy Muridzo and Kapfupi penning down songs like Chidhafu dhunda and Mai Nga, praising curvy women. Below is a list of local women that boast of beautiful big bodies.

1 Gonyeti

The comedian’s plus size body earned her the name Gonyeti, figuratively making reference to her. She has never been one to shy away fro the public scene due to her weight but in fact loves showing off herself. She does not even mind being nicknamed Gonyeti.

2 Misred

The radio and television personality has always encouraged women to embrace their curves. She once wrote a love letter to her body and publicly announced that she was not ashamed of showing off her figure. She also does not limit herself to wearing long and baggy clothes but in fact rocks any outfit she desires and often posts pictures of herself in a bikini.

3 Olinda Chapel

Olinda is a classy and stylish woman who wears trendy clothes. She is very confident in her skin and often claps back at people who negatively comment about her body.

4 Tendai Garwe

Popularly known as Sokostina, the media personality has a big body as well as character. She is loving and is the epitome of strength and resilience in a world where body shaming is rife. Even when she started in the local drama ‘Muchaneta’, Sokostina potrayed confidence in her self and God given body.

5 Pamela Zulu

The former backing vocalist and dancer of Jah Prayzah also earned the name Gonyeti due to her voluptuous curves. In spite of her size she can dance as actively as an small framed person and exudes confidence at all times
