Ginimbi mocked over outfit

A series of posts by local business man Ginimbi has left him being the subject of ridicule and mockery after one of his pictures went viral.

The businessman posted pictures of his shopping spree in the United States of America in true Ginimbi style. He showed off his choice of clothes in various stores and was pictured trying out different high class brands such as Versace and Dolce and Gabbana. One of the pictures, however stood out and he was mocked for wearing what appeared like a shiny pair of pyjamas.

Ginimbi posted the picture with a caption that he must have been doing something right as he was happy for no reason. People started throwing missiles at him and said the sweatpant and top combo made him look like the traditional dancers known as ‘zvinyawo’.

Others said that the outfit looked like something a clown would wear to a children’s party. A few sympathised with him and said although the outfit looked weird and out of this world, it was at least expensive.

Ginimbi always flaunts his clothes and shoes and when he goes on these shopping sprees, he does not do so sparingly. He goes all out and buys top clothing brands. He has been known for having a good fashion sense but it seems this time his followers were not amused with his choices.

He has become the topic of fashion ridicule on social media and a ‘ginimbi challenge’s seems to be on the cards. It is however puzzling to note that other celebrities have become targets of fashion criticism as evidenced by the recent wave of attacks on gospel musician Sebastian Magacha who came under the spotlight for his long and draping menswear collection. In a similar vein, Madam boss was ridiculed for wearing a jumpsuit to an awards ceremony earlier on this year.

It seems to have become the norm that people merely criticize celebrities without batting an eyelid or even taking into consideration recent fashion trends
