Controvesial comedian Gonyeti seems to have recovered from her horrific torture ordeal. The plus size comic queen is back at work. She shared some images of herself with a crutch and asserted that he is now back at work.
To make her presence felt, Gonyeti has already released a new skit mimicking former first lady Grace Mugabe. The new piece of work, which is titled Tibatei maoko, reminisces on the current squabbles in relation to the burial of former president of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe where in the family is opposed to his burial at the National heroes acre. He was declared a national hero. There have also been apprehension of arrest by some of his reatives who had fled after his ouster from power. These include his nephew Zhuwao.
Gonyeti was abducted a few weeks ago and her family assaulted by some unknown assailants. She was later forced to remove all her clothes, forced to drink sewer water and severely tortured only to be dumped in the Crowborough area. She had knocked on people’s doors,begging for clothes but most people had been scared to help her. Someone had later in thrown a dress through a window. Gonyeti had narrated her ordeal in a hospital bed and stated that the abductors had warned her against speaking about the torture as they would kill her mother.
Gonyeti has had to bear the brunt of being arrested several times over her mind opening skits. Early this year, she was arrested for a skit she did, which was said to put the reputation of the police and that of Charity Charamba into disrepute. She was made to pay a fine. Gonyeti remains defiant and continues to produce more comic skits reflecting what is happening in the Zimbabwean society.
