Two Zimbabwean lawyers awarded top scholarship.

Brian Mataruka, a lawyer and entrepreneur has just won the Africa Leadership University Chairman’s Scholarship for 2020. The bright legal brain is practicing with the firm Gill,Godlonton and Gerrans where he is also a patner. He will co-share the prestigious award with Zimbabwean born and Zambian based social entrepreneur Tafadzwa Sasa.

Mataruka is a director at Willdale bricks where he also chairs the human resources and remuneration committee. He sits on boards of several leading private companies such as Aviation ground services. He is also the founding director of Umuzi properties and Umhlaba Greenfield’s, which are construction and export agriculture companies respectively. In January 2018, the innovative lawyer was voted personality of the month by a Harare magazine.

His co winner Sasa is a high performance trainer, consultant and coach in Lusaka Zambia. She trains and consults for entrepreneurs and SMEs on team building, organizational design and staff engagement for higher efficiency. She is also the 2019 JCI international president for Zambia. The scholarship was awarded to the two Zimbabweans after a vigorous assessment process in recognition of their efforts in creating employment and excellence in business leadership.
