Domestic violence video sparks outrage

A video doing the rounds on social. media has infuriated a lot of people. A man is seen slapping a young lady very hard on the face before walking away. The lady does not hit back but cowers in a corner painfully embracing the assault. The video has sparked a lot of outrage and celebrities have joined in the conversation to raise awareness on violence against women.

The current lockdown seems to have also perpetuated domestic violence. Cases have surged leaving many people worried. The video has been cause for concern and a manhunt is currently on for the violent man in the video.

The sad reality is that some cases go unreported. While a few might have the guts to approach authorities, some women simply let it pass. Domestic violence is a serious offence that could even warrant a jail term.

The current video has revealed the level of ignorance in our society. The lady was being assaulted in an open road with other people witnessing the event

A lot of people have vowed to bring the perpetrator to justice if they manage to locate him. The same situation is also common in rural areas. Issues of poverty, lack of education and at times cultural norms have led to an increase in cases of domestic violence.
