Black Rhinos Queens set for regional tourney

Black Rhinos Queens are on the brink of making history by becoming the first Zimbabwe women’s football side to represent Zimbabwe in the Cosafa Women’S club championship.

Cosafa made the announcement on Wednesday. Cosafa is set to use the competition as a qualifier for the the inaugaral Caf women’s club championship. 8 out of the 14 Cosafa members managed to submit names of sides to compete at the regional club tournament with black Rhinos Queens set to represent Zimbabwe.

Black Rhinos Queens are the reigning Zimbabwean champions after winning the title in 2019 before football action was brought to a halt owing to the covid-19 pandemic.

The army side has been a dominant force on the domestic scene with several national team players such as rutendo Makore, Mavis Chirandu, Felistus Muzongondi part of the Black Rhinos Queens side.
