Dynamos legend given befitting farewell
Former Dynamos left back Simon Sachiti was given a befitting farewell by fellow Dynamos legends at his New Marimba home on Monday. Following testimonies at a memorial service held on Monday, Sachiti’s body was taken to his rural home at Gandanzara in Manicaland where his body will lie in state this evening before his burial tomorrow.
Sachiti is among the Dynamos class of the 1970’s which entertained large crowds at Rufaro stadium and was a force to reckon with on the domestic football landscape.
Goerge Shaya, Desmond Maringwa, Thomas Sweswe, July Sharara, Charlie Jones, David George, Robson Rundava, and former Dynamos treasurer Eric Mvududu were among those that attended the memorial service held on Monday.
The Dynamos family plunged into mourning at the weekend following news of the passing on of Sachiti who played alongside the likes of Shepherd Murape, Shaw Handriade, David George, Sunday Marimo, Goerge Shaya, and Oliver Kateya just to name a few. Sachiti’s death comes at a time wounds are still fresh following the passing away of David Mandigora and Misheck Chidzambwa.
