Caps United faces North African Teams in CAF Champions League
Zimbabwean champions Caps United will face North African opponents in CAF Champions League.
In a draw held this afternoon in Cairo, Egypt, the Green Machine found out that they will face last year’s finalists Zamalek as well as USM Alger of Algeria and Ahli Tripoli of Libya.
Prior to the final draw, Caps was in pot four with Zambia’s Zanaco, Ferroviario de Beira and St George. CAPS United are in Group B while Étoile Sportive du Sahel lead Group A. Group A also consists of Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, Al-Merrikh SC of Sudan and Mozambique club Clube Ferroviário de Maputo.
Reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns face AS Vita in Group C, as well as Saint George S.C. of Ethiopia and Espérance Sportive de Tunis of Tunisia. Egypt’s Al Ahly are in Group D with Wydad Athletic Club, Coton Sport and Zanaco.
