Mapeza Makes History at PSL
Football coach Norman Mapeza made history as FC Platinum won the Castle Premier Soccer League. FC platinum beat Chapungu 2-0 in a match played at Ascot Stadium on Saturday.
Mapeza became the second coach to win the championship with a team from outside Harare or Bulawayo since 1966. The title had been held by Murewa based team ST Paul’s FC, under Antony Edward Davies. This is the 45 year old’s second league title as a coach after Monomotapa’s 2008 win.
FC Platinum’s goals came from Rodwell Chinyengetere and Ali Sadiki. This earned FC Platinum a 2 point lead over Dynamos. Dembaro had won their last match against Chicken Inn.
