Rituals see sex worker claim lives of clients

A local sex worker has come out in the open and claimed witchdoctors made use of some used condoms that she gave them to perform rituals that claimed the lives of several of her clients. 32 year old Lindy Nikisi said witchdoctors had approached her and sought for the condoms that she used with her clients to perform rituals.

Nikisi said it was only after some time that she realised the used condoms that she was handing over to the witchdoctors was leading to the death of the clients that she had slept with. In an interview on Zifm stereo held on Tuesday evening Lindiwe appeared disturbed to have played a role in the death of some of her clients and claims she was not aware the used condoms would result in loss of life.

Prostitution is a common phenomenon in Zimbabwe and has often led to dire scenarios which include loss of life owing to HIV with some cases of disputes over non payment by clients at times ending in tragedy. Ritual acts have however also emerged in a development which is bound to send shivers down the spine of men that frequent the avenues to indulge in sexual intercourse with ladies of the night.

Social commentators have attributed frequent activity of prostitution to a high rate of unemployment which has pushed young girls into venturing into a territory where they sell their bodies for money. Broken relationships and unsatisfied men is among factors that are said to be the main reason behind men frequenting the avenues area where they seek for relief.

Following Lindiwe’s testimony men are bound to be instilled with fear as death emerges as one of the dire consequences which can result from visiting some of Zimbabwe’s red light districts.
