Former president enjoys some leisurely time

A recent picture of former Zimbabweans president Robert Mugabe has been doing the rounds on social media. The former statesman is een donning a casual black tracksuit and sneakers.

The former president seems to be enjoying some quiet time after having been ousted from power in late 2017 by the army. He was said to have been surrounded by criminals who were illegally benefitting from their criminal activities. The president had tried to satnd his ground before succumbing to pressure and stepping down.

He had issued a statement renouncing his presidency. This was after having been placed under house arrest. Since the removal from power, Robert Mugabe has been keeping to himself. He has been under the shadows and clearly seems to be enjoying a time of relaxation with his family.

The 95 year old former president was instrumental in the liberation struggle. He played a pivotal role in toppling the Rhodesian government. He was later on elected president after independence.

Robert Mugabe was infamous for his sharp tongue when it came to issues involving Britain, the former coloniser of Zimbabwe. He once advised Tony Blair to keep his England and he would keep his Zimbabwe.
