Top Zim boxer critically ill.
Zimbabwean boxing sensation Charles Manyuchi is critically ill and was scheduled to be airlifted to South Africa on Thursday evening. Manyuchi was hospitalised at Michael Gelfund hospital on Monday and was said to be complaining about chest pains on Thursday.
Manyuchi is also said to have high blood pressure causing much discomfort to the boxer according to his spokesperson Gilbert Munetsi. Due to the pain Manyuchi is feeling, the boxer was set to be airlifted to South Africa for further treatment.
Charles Manyuchi recently made the headlines after claiming a comeback victory over Pablo Acosta of Argentina in a fight held at the Harare International Conferenece Centre. The fight marked the return of Manyuchi since his devastating defeat to Quadratillo Abdukaxarov in Singapore. Many had ruled out a return but Manyuchi turned on the power to claim a vital win.
With many looking forward to Manyuchi’s next challenge which was set for 3 August the boxer has suddenly found himself on the hospital bed. Given Manyuchi’s health and with just over two months remaining for the scheduled fight analysts are ruling out Manyuchi as being in a state of being able to recover from his current health state to being able to take to the ring.
