Winky D pulls a shocker. Withdraws out of Tuku memorial gig.

Popurlar zimdancehall artist Winky D has disappointed his fans by a recent announcement that he will not be perfoming at the highly publicised Tuku memorial gig. The show will take place on the 27th of September at the Glamis Arena. In a message posted on Facebook and Instagram last night, the singer notified his large following that he will not be part of the star studded line up set to ignite the stage as people commemorate the legacy left behind by the late musical icon. Part of the message read,” It is with outmost regret that we, as Winky D management, do hereby inform the music fans who were looking forward to having a good recollection of the times Winky D shared with the late legend and national hero, Oliver Samanyanga Mtukudzi, that Winky D will no longer be part of the perfoming artistes at the Tuku memorial concert”. Most people expressed shock an disappointment as they were looking forward to having a blast with their favourite dancehall artist. There was no plausible explanation given online but it later emerged that there had been lack of communication between the organizers of the show and Winky D’s management. It is alleged that the organisers of the show were not forthcoming with certain details prompting the singer to withdraw. Winky D and the late Oliver Mtukudzi once collaborated together on the song Panorwadza Moyo. Other artists expected to perform at the show today are Selmor Mtukudzi, Tammy Moyo, Mi casa, Soul Jah Love,Jah Prayzah and Alick Macheso among others. The musical legend, Oliver Mtukudzi passed away in January this year after a long battle with diabetes.
