Local soccer star Edward Sadomba honoured in the United Arab Emirates.

Local football star Edward Sadomba was recently honoured in the United Arab Emirates.The former international footballer is currently preparing for life in the retirement zone. He was treated like a king by the UAE Chapter of the Al Hilal fans. The footballer has had a fruitful season and some of the best moments of his career at Sudan’s Giants Al Hilal in a four season spell in which he won the CAF Championship league and Confederation Cup Golden boot awards.

The soccer star announced three weeks ago that he was calling time on his playing. Sadomba will now have ample time to focus on his philanthropic work through the Edward Sadomba Foundation which caters for underprivileged children in Mbare. Sadomba and his wife travelled to the UAE upon invitation by the UAE Chapter. He was presented with a certificate and a gift coucher amounting to US$ 1000. The chairman of the Al Hilal fans, Monasir Gamblan, who is based in the USA flew to Dubai for the momentius occasion. He further gifted the soccer star with a trip voucher to Washington DC early next year.

Sadomba confirmed that he is regarded as the best ever player at Al Hilal. He then remarked,”All I can say is Good is wonderful,I didn’t expect something like this could happen to me”. Sadomba will host a testimonial match early next year. Sadomba’s wife has been running her own online campaign for her husband by posting videos and images spanning from the time he was scouted at only 17.
