The New Miss Zimbabwe Faces Backlash Because Of Her Looks
Social media has erupted following the crowning of Miss World Zimbabwe over the past weekend. Unfortunate for the newly crowned Miss Zimbabwe, she has become the latest victim of social media rants with people saying she’s not the prettiest of them all.
This has left us asking on what basis is Miss World World Zimbabwe decided on? Is it only beauty, is it brains, maybe beauty with a little bit of brains or brains with a little of bit beauty?
Some say it’s her hairline that makes her look bad, others have even gone as far as saying she’s too dark to be Miss Zimbabwe citing reasons of incompetence at the upcoming Miss World pageant. Wait, what, so only a “yellow bone” would be acceptable?!
Emily, who has entered beauty pageants before and WON, yes this is not her first win people, doesn’t seem to be bothered by all the hype surrounding her, at least she has some beauty queens in her corner.
Former Miss Zimbabwe Malaika Mushandu made her support public when she said she believes in Emily and she supports her.
“When it comes to modelling issues, I don’t argue. I give facts and Emily is the best to be crowned Miss World Zimbabwe, let’s give her all the support as Zimbabweans”, said Mercy Mushaninga of Zimgossip models.
It seems like the main concern is not what she can do for the country but how well she is going to compete at the Miss World pageant. The sponsors of Miss Zimbabwe seem to have no hope saying the Miss World is racist and against black women, so there’s no chance for the local girls.
