Super league beckons for Mushekwi
Zimbabwean forward Nyasha Mushekwi has his fingers crossed given Zhejiang Energy Greentowns’ prospects of earning a Chinese Super league promotion playoff berth.
Mushekwi’s side are number 2 in the promotion stage of the competition where 2 wins 1 draw and a loss places them in second place on 7 points.
Mushekwi would have loved for his team to earn automatic qualification into the Chinese super league but a single defeat and a draw in their 4 outings leaves Changchun Yatai at the apex and a draw away from securing automatic qualification.
Only a win for Greentown and a heavy defeat by Changchun Yatai would secure Zheijang Energy Greentown automatic qualification.
Second position however appears more realistic for Zhejiang Energy Greentown who need to maintain number two on the standings in order to secure a place among teams that will vie for a place in the super league via the promotional/relegation playoff.
Only the top side is guaranteed promotion, while the second-placed team will have to take part in a relegation/promotion play-off against the club that ends 15th in the Chinese Super League.
