Tino Kadewere injured
Warriors star forward Tinotenda Kadewere is set to miss out on Lyon’s round of 16 match in the Coupe de France against Red Star after picking up an injury in training.
When asked about the squad’s health at a pre-match press conference Rudi Garcia said, “Lopes, Dubois, Kadewere, Aouar, Benlamri, and Slimani (suspended) are unavailable. We’ll see if Cornet is fit. Kadewere hurt himself yesterday in practice, but I will still put out a first choice team to qualify. We can find other solutions to compensate for the loss of Tino Kadewere”.
Tino Kadewere who was named among the top 25 upcoming players in Europe has been a revelation since joining Olympique Lyon from Le Havre. The Warriors forward has enjoyed plenty of game time, reaching the double digit mark in as far as goals scored while also providing several assists.
Although he was unable to travel for Zimbabwe’s back to back Afcon qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia Kadewere is a key player for the Warriors who will soon begin their world cup qualifying campaign with a clash against South Africa in June.
