Ngezi Platinum ready to roast the Chicken
By Geronimo News
Group 4 runners up Ngezi Platinum Stars are upbeat they will conquer when they face off with Chicken Inn in the quarter finals of the Chibuku Super Cup tournament at a date yet to be announced.
Given the quality and style of play exhibited by the Mhondoro-based outfit, it is going to be interesting to see how they will fare against a well-oiled Chicken Inn side who topped Group 2 with 12 points ahead of giants Highlanders.
Following their 1-2 loss to FC Platinum in their last group game at the weekend Madamburo will instead draw positives from that match and work on their shortcomings going forward.
With focus now entirely on the quarter finals stage Ngezi have picked themselves again and are having their work cut out at their Baobab Stadium base and ensure they sharpen their edges ahead of the Chicken Inn tie.
Buoyed by the wealth of experienced players in the likes of Devon Chafa, Denver Mukamba and Qadr Amini to mention a few Madamburo are also favourites to lift the coveted Chibuku Super Cup trophy.
Just like any other coach, Rodwell Dhlakama is aiming for the big crown but was quick to point out that they need to put in some extra work in training and remain focused if they are to progress to the next stage of the competition.
Meanwhile, Harare giants Dynamos lock horns with army side Black Rhinos while new boys Cranborne Bullets clash against Harare City as Premier League champions FC Platinum square off with Highlanders in what is also expected to be another mouthwatering encounter.
