Chitembwe reunites with Caps United
By Geronimo News
Lloyd Chitembwe has completed a sensational return to his home team Caps United after the gaffer was appointed head coach this Monday, replacing Darlington Dodo who was sacked last week.
Chitembwe initially left the Harare based outfit for city rivals Harare City in August 2019 amid tension between the coach and the executive.
The former Warriors assistant coach returns from the Sunshine Boys with his entire technical team which includes Nelson Matongorere, Fungai Tostao Kwashi, Tonderai Marume and fitness trainer Thulani Muzambwa.
The 50-year-old coach was spotted at Makepekepe’s matchday 1 encounter against ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga Stadium on Saturday barely 24 hours after taking charge of Harare City in their 1-0 loss at the hands of Herentals at the National Sports Stadium on Friday and that alone confirmed his possible reunion with his former paymasters.
On several occasions, Chitembwe had quashed reports that he was on the verge of making his sensational return to his home club but today’s (Monday) event has finally put to bed all the speculation about who was going to take charge of the once blooming Green Machine.
Perhaps the gaffer, who is making a return to the Makepekepe fold for the third time since the beginning of his coaching career, will this time around turn around the fortunes of the club and help them end their five-year Premier League title drought.
Meanwhile, in similar fashion attention now shifts to Harare City as football stakeholders will be eager to see who will steer the ship in the 2021/22 season.
