Bosso, Ngezi share spoils

The blockbuster clash between Highlanders and Ngezi Platinum Stars at the weekend ended in a share of the spoils at the Barbourfields Stadium.
Bosso showed some strong measure of resistance to stop a well-oiled Ngezi Platinum side whose quality since the start of the 2021/22 season especially in the Chibuku Super Cup campaign has been unquestionable.
Buoyed by their dominance over other teams in that knock-out tournament where they have managed to reach the final the platinum backed outfit were firm favourites to win the match but the hosts ensured they stand their ground and avoided any leaks.
Ngezi who are yet to lift the coveted Premier League title since gaining promotion into the top tier football division in 2016 have been clinical in their execution and each time they got a half chance they capitalised on it but Sunday was a different day altogether as they failed to make any meaningful threats.
Madamburo are now on four points in two matches after winning 5-0 in their league opener against Bulawayo City at their favourite hunting stable, the Baobab Stadium on November 6, 2021.
Though tied on 4 points with three other teams, Ngezi sit on third position owing to a superior goal difference.
On the other end Highlanders who faltered in their first league encounter were hoping to bounce back from that slumber hence the spirited performance which actually brought hope to the entire Amahlolanyama community.
Meanwhile, Ngezi will now shift attention to the Chibuku Super Cup final against FC Platinum pencilled for Mandava Stadium on Saturday.
