All set for Warriors, Senegal tie
All is now set for the Zimbabwe versus Senegal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash at the Kouekong Stadium in Bafoussam this afternoon.
The meeting between the two nations will open the Group B round of matches after hosts Cameroon opened the curtain with a 2-1 win over Burkina Faso yesterday before Cape Verde Islands edged Ethiopia 1-0 in the other encounter in Group A of the tournament.
This will not be the first time that these two sides will be meeting at an AFCON tournament with Senegal winning by 2-0 identical score lines during the 2006 and 2017 editions.
And going into today’s match the odds will be in favour of the Lions of Teranga who appear too strong on paper while the Warriors are coming in as the underdogs.
Both teams will be missing some of their key players either due to injury or having tested positive for COVID-19, and only hope will guide them through the entire 90 minutes of the match.
