Tino Kadewere attracts interest
Zimbabwe national soccer team forward Tino Kadewere has emerged as a transfer target with reports suggesting that the lanky forward is being tracked by French Ligue 1 outfit Montpellier.
Tino Kadewere is looking to relaunch his career following a frustrating loan spell which was plagued by an injury at Real Mallorca. Kadewere’s contract with Olympique Lyon is coming to an end in June although Les Gones can take up an additional year as an option.
Kadewere is hoping to rekindle the form which saw him score 10 goals and provide 3 assists in his first season with Lyon. The Zimbabwean forward was an unused substitute in Real Mallorca’s 3 nil win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Following his loan spell in Spain Kadewere could opt to return to France where Montpellier appear to be interested in the forward. Being familiar with ligue 1 football will be an advantage for Kadewere who will not need to adapt to the game in France.
After ending the 2022/2023 season in 10th place Montpellier will be looking to beef up their squad as they seek to be more competitive in the 2023/2024 season.
Tino Kadewere made his professional debut in his native land at Harare City before moving to Sweden where he turned out for Djurgadens. Steady development would see the Highfield Academy product blossom and secure a move to le Havre in Ligue 2.
Scooping the golden boot award in Ligue 2 would then propel Kadewere to Olympique Lyon where he secured the biggest move of his footballing career. Lack of game time in his second season at the club would however result in a loan move to Real Mallorca.
