Sihlangu Dlodlo’s Family Awaits Post-Mortem Results to Finalize Burial Plans
The family of Sihlangu Dlodlo, the late Highlanders CEO, has announced that they will wait for the post-mortem results before making any burial arrangements. Dlodlo was found dead at his home in Nketa 9, Bulawayo, on Monday, under unclear circumstances, leaving the Zimbabwean football community in shock.
Dlodlo’s passing came as a surprise, particularly as he was last seen in good health on Saturday. His unexpected death, coupled with a Facebook post from October 16 that resembled a suicide note, has left many speculating about the circumstances surrounding his demise. His loved ones, as well as the Highlanders community, hope the post-mortem results will provide clarity and closure.
Nkosana Griffiths, Dlodlo’s older brother, told The Chronicle that the family could not proceed with burial preparations until the results were confirmed. “We can’t do much in terms of preparing for his burial without first getting the results of the post-mortem,” he stated, urging the public for patience during this difficult time.
Describing Sihlangu as a devoted family man, Griffiths emphasized the support Dlodlo always extended to those in need. Appointed as Highlanders’ CEO in April 2024, Dlodlo leaves behind his wife and three children, who reside in the United Kingdom.
Dlodlo’s death has sparked an outpouring of condolences from the football fraternity. The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) expressed its grief and solidarity with the family and the Highlanders community.
