Harare’s Theatre in the Park is gearing up to revive its popular music series, “Magitare in the Park,” this coming Saturday. The event promises a rich Afro-fusion experience featuring performances by Gwevedzi Redefined, Norman Masamba, and Audinance Kuimba. With an aim to create a vibrant platform for both seasoned and emerging artists, the revival is set to attract music enthusiasts and industry stakeholders alike.
Gwevedzi Redefined has been making waves with their unique sound, gaining an enthusiastic following since the addition of their new lead singer, Matalamanda. His presence has brought fresh energy and charisma to the group, solidifying their position in Zimbabwe’s evolving music scene.
The event goes beyond entertainment, fostering a space for networking among creatives and key stakeholders to explore collaborative opportunities and strategies for industry growth. Event organiser Taffiae Matiure highlighted that the initiative is part of a continuous effort to promote local talent and drive the development of Zimbabwe’s creative sector.
“There is a need for the continuation of such events as we seek ways to grow the industry,” Matiure stated. “This is a family event, and with the festive season approaching, it’s the perfect time to create a lively, welcoming atmosphere in the park. We are committed to promoting local content and ensuring that our cultural spaces remain active hubs of creativity.”
As anticipation builds for the weekend performance, attendees can expect an evening filled with soulful melodies, dynamic performances, and an ambiance that celebrates Zimbabwe’s rich musical heritage. “Magitare in the Park” aims to set the tone for future engagements that will continue to bridge gaps between artists and industry players, supporting a thriving artistic community.
