Gospel Sensation Evelyn Natsai to Release New Single “Nyengetera” Ahead of Upcoming Album

Gospel sensation Evelyn Natsai is set to release her highly anticipated new single, “Nyengetera,” this Saturday, a track that delivers a powerful message of faith and hope. This song, which will be available for streaming, is a precursor to Natsai’s third album, also titled Nyengetera, set to launch in 2025.

Describing the single as an “early Christmas present,” Natsai explains that the song serves as a “painkiller” for those in despair, especially as the festive season approaches. “Nyengetera” encourages believers to keep praying and trusting God, even when faced with life’s darkest moments. “It’s about never giving up and waiting for God’s answer, which will surely come,” she shared.

The music video for “Nyengetera” will premiere at 10:00 AM on Natsai’s official YouTube channel, Natsai Music, allowing fans to connect with the message of the song visually as well as audibly.

Natsai’s musical journey began in 2020, and since then, she has become a rising star in Zimbabwe’s gospel music scene. Inspired by gospel diva Janet Manyowa, Natsai has drawn on her experiences of growing up in a family that enjoyed the vibrant rhythms of sungura music, which influences her unique sound. However, it is her deep connection to God’s Word that fuels her passion for gospel music.

“I love Janet Manyowa. She is a professional gospel musician and her songwriting reflects a deep understanding of the Word of God. That is the kind of inspiration I seek,” Natsai explained. “The Word of God is the light of my life, and when I meditate on it, I am inspired to praise and worship my Creator.”

In addition to “Nyengetera,” Natsai has already made waves with previous hits, including “Vanokurwira,” released in 2020, and “Zadzai Moyo,” which gained popularity on Star FM in 2022. Her collaboration with Mark Ngwazi, “Batai Ruoko,” hit the charts and stayed in the Top 20 on the Coca-Cola Top 20 for eight consecutive weeks in 2022.

Natsai’s first album, Vanokurwira, debuted in 2020, followed by Ndadzoka in 2022. Her third album, Nyengetera, will be launched at a grand event at Golden Conifer in Mabelreign, Harare, on January 31, 2025.
