Happy Mpofu Nominated for The Promised Land Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Arts and Culture

PUMULA Royal Arts and Community Awards (Praca) founder and executive director, Happy Mpofu, has been nominated for The Promised Land Awards in the arts and culture category. The nomination serves as recognition of his outstanding work in promoting arts and culture within the community.

Mpofu expressed immense gratitude upon receiving the news, describing it as both an honour and a validation of his commitment to the arts. “I was overwhelmed with gratitude and humility when I heard about the nomination. He further highlighted the significance of the nomination, noting that it affirms his dedication and passion for his work. “This nomination means the world to me. The nomination was extended by the Genesis Foundation in partnership with Sky Global Education and the Bulawayo Junior City Council. The Promised Land Awards ceremony, scheduled for March 7, will celebrate outstanding contributions made by Bulawayo’s youth across various sectors, including arts and culture, humanitarian work, faith, fraternity, business innovation, education, and sports.

The arts and culture category particularly aims to recognize young individuals who have utilized the arts as a means to drive social change and improve the quality of life for residents of Bulawayo. The award will be granted based on the impact of the nominee’s work, assessed by its scale and magnitude.
