Wolves Midfielder Marshall Munetsi Vows to Improve Finishing in Advanced Role

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Marshall Munetsi has pledged to keep working on his finishing as he adjusts to a more attacking role under coach Vitor Pereira.
The Zimbabwean international, who joined Wolves from French side Stade Reims on transfer deadline day, admitted that his conversion rate in front of goal has been concerning despite getting into promising positions.
“I think it’s something that I just have to keep on working. As a midfielder, when you get there with fatigue sometimes, you just have to remain calm,” Munetsi told the club’s media.
“Today I couldn’t do that, but the most important thing is the three points we got today.”
Under Pereira, Munetsi has been deployed in a more offensive role compared to his previous defensive duties. So far, he has taken 11 shots for Wolves, scoring once, with three on target and others missing the mark—including an effort that struck the crossbar in their recent victory over West Ham United.
Despite his slow start in front of goal, Munetsi’s scoring record at Reims, where he netted 21 times, highlights his potential. He also found the net last week in Zimbabwe’s 2-2 draw against Benin, proving he still has a goal-scoring touch.
As the former Orlando Pirates and Baroka star continues to adapt, Wolves fans will hope he rediscovers his form and contributes more goals to the team’s campaign.
