Hwabaraty to Launch Sixth Album ‘Amandla’ in Njube

Multi-award-winning contemporary musician Hwabaraty is set to release his sixth studio album, Amandla, at Sdudla Beer Garden in Njube on September 21.

The 12-track project features collaborations with South Africa’s Mqobi Yazo, Udonsi LwabaPostoli, Sisa Senkosi, Rosalie, and Fish F Ndaramu. With Amandla, Hwabaraty explores themes of resilience, cultural pride, unity, love, and identity, encouraging listeners to remain grounded in their roots while navigating modern challenges.

The launch will feature performances from Umkhathi Theatre Works, Iyasa, Mzistozz Mfanafuthi, Bolamba Cultural Birds, Madlela Sikhobokhobo, Fish F Ndaramu, Sisa Senkosi, and Udonsi LwabaPostoli, making it a major cultural event for Bulawayo.

Speaking ahead of the release, Hwabaraty said launching in Njube carries deep personal meaning. “Njube is my home and foundation. Launching here is my way of honouring the community that raised me, while showing young people that greatness can emerge from the township and reach the global stage,” he said.

He described the album as a balance between tradition and modernity. “This album is a true reflection of my cultural lifestyle. It blends traditional Southern African rhythms with modern sounds, representing both struggle and triumph, spirituality and celebration.”

Hwabaraty’s career spans five albums including Ekas’Lam, Woza Nhlanhla, Isilwane, Umqakezeleni, and Jelimana. His music has been praised for preserving cultural narratives while appealing to contemporary audiences. With Amandla, he continues to solidify his place as one of Zimbabwe’s most influential and culturally rooted musicians.

The Njube launch is expected to draw fans, cultural enthusiasts, and industry leaders, positioning Amandla as one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.
