Daboe Ncube’s Homecoming Concert Ushers in Spirit of Worship in Bulawayo

The local Gospel music scene is thriving, with events that began during the festive season continuing into the new year. One standout show was Daboe Ncube’s homecoming concert in Bulawayo, held over the weekend at a local venue. The event delivered a powerful experience of praise, worship, and spiritual reflection for attendees.
The concert opened with local group Psalms Revealed, whose vibrant performance immediately set the tone. Their two-song set demonstrated musical maturity well beyond their years, connecting the audience to God in spirit and preparing them for the rest of the evening.
Following Psalms Revealed, Gospel veteran Mai Mwamuka took the stage. Her set offered worshippers a chance for deep prayer and thanksgiving, elevating the event into a platform of reflection and spiritual guidance. The performance highlighted her ability to engage the crowd while maintaining a strong sense of reverence and devotion.
The highlight of the night was Daboe Ncube himself. The South Africa-based Gospel musician delivered a compelling performance, featuring tracks from his latest release alongside unreleased songs. Attendees had the opportunity to experience his evolving sound, blending heartfelt lyrics with powerful delivery.
Saxophonist Vuyo Sax followed, raising the energy with cover songs including “Holy Spirit” and “Alpha and Omega.” His performance added a rich musical layer, keeping the audience engaged and inspired. Closing the show was seasoned performer Lorraine Maplanka, whose smooth voice and experience helped guide the crowd to a reflective and uplifting finale.
On the sidelines, Ncube expressed gratitude to the Bulawayo community for supporting the event. He specifically acknowledged local leaders, fellow artists, and Life Spring Church for facilitating the concert’s success. “I would like to honour and give thanks to the Bulawayo people, my family and friends who made it all possible. Before 2026 ends, I promise a much bigger event compared to this one,” Ncube said.
Looking ahead, Ncube plans to return to Bulawayo with an even larger event and to release new music and visuals throughout 2026. His commitment to sharing the message of God through quality music ensures that both his local and international fans will continue to benefit from his talent and dedication.
Daboe Ncube’s homecoming concert demonstrated that Gospel music in Bulawayo is not only thriving but evolving, with local and regional artists contributing to a growing culture of spiritual celebration and musical excellence.
