Jaycee Rapaddict Dedicates BAA Song of the Year Win to Insiza District

South Africa-based artist Jaycee Rapaddict, popularly known as Mr Ungayithi Vuu, is celebrating a major career milestone after winning Song of the Year at the 2025 Bulawayo Arts Awards. The award was earned through his smash hit Ungayithi Vuu, a song that resonated widely with audiences. Rather than keeping the moment personal, the artist has dedicated the accolade to Insiza District in Matabeleland South, the community that nurtured and supported him from the beginning.

Jaycee Rapaddict said the win reflects years of hard work, discipline, and commitment to his craft. He described the award as a shared victory for the people of Insiza, noting that their love and belief in his music played a key role in the song’s success. According to the artist, the overwhelming response to Ungayithi Vuu proved that authentic stories and relatable sound still matter. By dedicating the award to Insiza, he aimed to honour the roots that shaped his journey.

The artist, who recently rebranded to Mr Ungayithi Vuu, said the recognition has strengthened his purpose. He explained that the song’s impact went beyond charts and airplay, as it became a point of pride for his community. “Winning the BAA is a huge blessing. We are still celebrating as Insiza. As uGodlwayo, this award means everything to us. The way people loved this song is amazing, and for that, I am honouring them with this accolade,” he said.

Looking ahead, Mr Ungayithi Vuu has set clear goals for the year. He plans to open his first professional recording studio in Filabusi, a move aimed at creating opportunities for local talent. He also intends to host more music events in Insiza to give emerging artists a platform and strengthen the local creative scene.

The BAA Song of the Year win marks more than personal success for Jaycee Rapaddict. It signals growth, responsibility, and a desire to give back. By investing in infrastructure and events at home, Mr Ungayithi Vuu is turning recognition into action and positioning Insiza as an active contributor to the region’s music culture.
