1. Eat healthy
Make sure you eat plenty of leafy greens, colorful fruits and foods containing omega-3 fatty acids for good eye health
2. Don’t smoke
If you do, then quit. Smoking is also harmful to the eyes and people who smoke are four times more likely to go blind in old age.
3. Deal with allergies
Seasonal allergies irritate the eyes so pay extra attention to what triggers your allergies. Try to avoid allergies, keep eye gene and antihistamines close by to relieve itchiness.
4. Get new glasses
Upgrade your eye wear and you can get yourself fashionable frames.
5. Wear shades
Protect your eyes against the sun by wearing sunglasses. This reduces your risk for cataracts and macular degeneration.
6. Wear goggles when swimming
Swim goggles protect your eyes from waterborne bacteria that can cause sight-threatening diseases.
7. Go for eye examinations
Before school starts, make sure your kids have comprehensive eye exams to help detect any vision problems that could affect their learning. In-school vision screenings are not a substitute for eye exams.
