Grace Mugabe slapped with 4 million dollar lawsuit.

It never rains but heavily pours for former first lady Grace Mugabe who was recently slapped with a 4 million dollar lawsuit by Lebanese businessman Jamal Hamed. The businessman is claiming for defamation, compensation and damages for a previous encounter with Grace.

Hamed alleges that between October 2016 and December 2017 Grace caused a statement to be published in local newspapers that he had violated the terms of their agreement wherein she had sought to purchase a diamond ring from the business man who is also into diamond processing. She had given the impression that he was dishonest and depicted him as a crook and a criminal. Hamed claims that that had tarnished his image. He said the statements were false, wrongful and defamatory.

Grace had descended upon Hamed with litigation claiming back her money and further seized three of his properties together with her son Russel Gorezaza. Hamed claims that some police officers who had been instrumental in seizing the properties are still in occupation of the said premises to date. This is so inspite of an extant eviction order by the courts.

Tables seem to have turned this time around as Hamed is now claiming back his properties together with damages. Hamed has business interests in Zimbabwe as well as outside the country. Grace is yet to respond to the application. The lawyers who were representing her when she initially filed summons for the recovery of her money after claiming that Hamed had breached terms of their agreement, Manase and Manase legal practitioners filed a claim last year against the former first lady and alleged that she had not paid them for services rendered. As if that was not enough Grace was served with litigation papers from several other people and companies and had her diplomtic immunity revoked in South Africa where an assault change was laid out against her. A warrant for her arrest was subsequently issued.
