Mbare woman rewarded for kind deeds

A Mbare woman will forever be greatful for her kind deeds with efforts to assist cyclone Idai victims capturing the attention of Econet Wireless founder Strive Masiyiwa who has pledged to build a solar powered house for the Mbare grandmother.

The Mbare woman made the headlines on social media last week after walking all the way from Mbare to Highlands by foot all in a bid to assist victims of Cyclone Idai. The Mbare grandmother donated pots that she handed over to Presbyterian Church in a gesture that was hailed by several on social media.

Touched by the Mbare woman’s kindness Econet Wireless founder Strive Masiyiwa has pledged to build a home for the Mbare lady who will also receive 1000 US dollars every month for her kind deeds. Masiyiwa sent out a message reqesting for Zimbabweans to help him locate the woman that was captured while kindly walking towards the centre where gifts were being donated.

Zimbabwe last week plunged into a crisis after several lives were lost in one of the biggest natural disasters the country has ever been faced with. Zimbabweans from all walks of life then responded by assisting victims in cash and kind. It is from such kind deeds that a grandmother from Mbare took it upon herself to walk all the way from Mbare to Highlands where she donated pots for the Cyclone Idai victims.

In Mozambique the effects of the Cyclone were even more devastating as the country had lost more than 400 lives when figures were last updated on Monday.

Churches, Civic organisations, companies and individuals have come together for a noble cause where assisting cyclone victims has been the major priority. The Eastern Highlands was the most affected following floods which rocked mainly Chimanimani.
