Murderer fakes mental illness.

Togarasei Mashimba will live to regret the day that he murdered his girlfriend after an altercation. He was involved in an adulterous affairs with one Anna, who was married. Togarasei was so invested in the illicit affair such that when he suspected that his lover was seeing someone else other than her husband he went insane.

Mashumba had gone on to axe Anna to death in a gruesome murder that sent chills down the spine of villagers in Murehwa. He had then fled only to be arrested months later in Mt Darwin.

Upon commencement of his trial Mashumba alleged to be suffering from mental illness. He said he had a history of being mentally challenged and he had married five times only for the wives to leave him due to his mental condition. He had however said that the mental illness was occasional.

Upon being ordered to be examined at the Chikurubi psychiatric unit, Mashumba was said to be perfectly fine. His trial will continue.It can be noted that cases of prisoners who pretend to be mentally I’ll are on the rise especially those who would have committed such heinous acts. Although others will be genuinely mentally challenged,the same cannot be said for others.
