NEC Agriculture Recognized for Advancing Accessibility and Innovation in Agricultural Employment

The National Employment Council for the Agricultural Industry in Zimbabwe (NEC Agriculture) has been honored at the Zimbabwe CEOs Network Professional Awards for its commitment to making employment information accessible to all agricultural workers. The organization received top recognition for translating its Principal Collective Bargaining Agreement (Statutory Instrument 41 of 2022) into two local vernacular languages, breaking down language barriers and ensuring that every agricultural worker has access to vital employment information.

With a network of 10 fully operational provincial offices across Zimbabwe, NEC Agriculture has prioritized direct engagement and accessibility, bringing services closer to farmers and agricultural workers, even in remote areas. The organization’s efforts to enhance efficiency and accessibility are further exemplified by its groundbreaking Electronic Case Management System, which streamlines industrial relations processes and ensures timely resolution of disputes.

David Madyausiku, Chief Executive Officer of NEC Agriculture, was named the Platinum Award winner in the Top CEO Awards category. Speaking at the Zimbabwe CEOs Network Professional Excellence and Young CEO Awards in Harare, Madyausiku highlighted the essential role of agriculture in Zimbabwe’s economy. He emphasized that the sector is not just an industry but a foundation for livelihoods and a crucial driver of national development aspirations.

“NEC Agriculture has been at the forefront of shaping the future of the sector by integrating cutting-edge innovation, strategic foresight, and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of farmers and employees nationwide,” Madyausiku stated. “Through our unique focus on industrial relations, we have become a trusted leader in advancing industry standards and fostering meaningful change.”

The award, he noted, is a recognition of the organization’s transformative contributions to the agricultural sector through innovative approaches, strategic leadership, and a commitment to inclusive growth and resilience.

Looking ahead, NEC Agriculture has crafted a six-year strategic plan (2025–2030) aligned with Zimbabwe’s national vision of becoming an upper-middle-income society by 2030. Madyausiku described the plan as a bold roadmap designed to drive innovation, growth, and resilience within the agricultural industry.

“Our success reflects a collective drive to deliver first-class industrial relations and advisory services that strengthen Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector. We remain steadfast in our mission to shape a stronger and more resilient industry,” he said.

NEC Agriculture’s success is also attributed to its team of experts specializing in various fields, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of industry advancements. This expertise, combined with a strong and recognizable brand, has positioned NEC Agriculture as a trusted leader in agricultural employment matters.

The organization has also invested in digital transformation to enhance engagement and accessibility. Its interactive website provides real-time solutions through an online chat function, industry insights, and a platform for communication with NEC Agriculture from anywhere in the country. Additionally, the introduction of a VoIP connection linking all branches has reduced redirections and wait times, making it easier for stakeholders to access services efficiently.

With its continued focus on accessibility, innovation, and strategic leadership, NEC Agriculture remains committed to fostering an inclusive and resilient agricultural sector that supports the needs of Zimbabwean farmers and agricultural workers.
