President Cyril Ramaphosa to Open 115th Zimbabwe Agricultural Show in Harare

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will officially open the 115th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show in Harare on Friday. The week-long event, which began on Monday and runs until August 30, 2025, is taking place under the theme “Building Bridges, Connecting Agriculture, Industry and Commerce.”

The show, Zimbabwe’s largest annual trade exhibition, has attracted regional and international participation. Delegations from South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palau, and China are among the exhibitors showcasing products, services, and innovations.

Organised into five key sections—Agri-produce, Tobacco, Cotton, Livestock, and Commercial Exhibition—the event offers a comprehensive platform for farmers, businesses, and investors to connect. Exhibitors are presenting new technologies, improved crop varieties, livestock breeds, and commercial opportunities designed to strengthen agricultural value chains.

Information Minister Jenfan Muswere, speaking during Tuesday’s post-Cabinet briefing, confirmed that the programme includes several major business and networking events. These feature the Annual National Agribusiness Conference, the Research for Agricultural Excellence and Technology Indaba, the Environmental, Social and Governance Conference, and the Zimbabwe Agricultural Media Awards.

Traditional highlights such as the Golf Tournament, the ZAS Schools Quiz, and the Exhibitors’ Cocktail remain part of the programme, ensuring continuity while adding value through knowledge-sharing platforms.

The presence of President Ramaphosa at the official opening underscores the strong economic and agricultural ties between South Africa and Zimbabwe. His attendance also signals the growing importance of regional cooperation in boosting food security, trade, and investment.

With its blend of exhibitions, conferences, and networking events, the 115th Zimbabwe Agricultural Show continues to serve as a vital hub for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable agricultural growth.
