4. Research and Writing Interns/Volunteers (MEWC)
Interns/Volunteers Duties
Specific internship/volunteers duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the preparation and publication of the African Women’s Decade report 2015;
- Collect information and data on women’s rights in Africa during 2015
- Track and report on progress African countries are making in the area of women’s human rights, gender equality and women’s empowerment;
- Conduct a comprehensive desk review and analysis of the status and implementation of laws and policies and practices on women’s rights in Africa
Qualifications
- Highly motivated with a strong interest or background on women related issues or studies/work in Africa
- Proven working experience on issues related to gender;
- Previous experience in desk and/or literature reviews on gender, development, human rights or any related area;
- Excellent ability to work independently;
- Capacity to analyse complex data and information and present it in an effective and concise way;
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and work with people from different cultural background;
- Possess strong research and writing skills
- Be good at writing, proofreading and have strong analytical skills;
- Excellent ability to read, analyse and write documents, articles, etc.
- Good problem-solving and inter-personal skills;
- Able to meet tight deadlines;
*This internship is unpaid and home-based (which makes it quite flexible as you can work from anywhere around the world).
-The internship requires a commitment of 3 months.
