The singer was instrumental in the marketing of dancehall music in the country. Winky D has collaborated with several artists including the late Oliver Mtukudzi, Beenie man, Buffalo Souljah, vabati vajehovha and Gemma Griffiths among others. The much anticipated album launch has caused furore online with most people gushing about the new offering.

Winky sampled a few of his new songs at a recent gig and the response was overwhelming. The cover for his new album, which features the singer wearing some chains on his head, has also become a topical issue online with other people and celebs alike mimicking the look. Winky has won various awards and his collaboration with Gemma Griffiths on the song “Mugarden” was player on Trace Africa and took the top spot on a BBC radio channel.
