Xolly Mncwango to Headline The Next Chapter Gospel Concert in Bulawayo

Award-winning South African gospel sensation Xolly Mncwango is set to headline The Next Chapter concert in Bulawayo on May 10, in a spirit-filled event hosted by VOCAL Extraordinaire (Vocal Ex) in partnership with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Students Representative Council.

The concert will take place at the NUST Ceremonial Hall, promising an unforgettable night of praise, worship, and powerful performances from some of the region’s most gifted gospel artists.

This marks the sixth edition of The Next Chapter concert, a hallmark event for Vocal Ex — an inter-denominational platform dedicated to uplifting gospel music and connecting believers across church backgrounds. According to Vocal Ex founder Thembelani Mdlaziba, this year’s concert holds deep spiritual and symbolic significance.

“We recently celebrated 10 years, alongside Canaan Nyathi and Everton Mlalazi — a testament of growth over time. It can never be any less than a continued celebration and the Lord’s hand upon us,” said Mdlaziba. “We will praise and worship together and experience the power and move of God in a mighty way.”

Mncwango, fresh from her double win at the 2025 Metro FM Music Awards — where she scooped Best Female Artiste and Best Gospel Album — is expected to bring down the house with her soul-stirring performances. This will be her first-ever appearance in Bulawayo, a city known for its vibrant gospel following.

With popular tracks such as Alikho Igama, Liyabasebenzela, Ukubonga, and Yebo Nkosi, Xolly Mncwango has become one of Africa’s most beloved gospel voices, drawing listeners into deep moments of worship and praise.

The concert will also feature a strong lineup of local gospel talent, including Snowy, Tehilla Testament, the Spirit Praise Choir, Lorraine Maplanka, and Faith Mucha. The diversity of the lineup is a reflection of Vocal Ex’s commitment to nurturing both seasoned and emerging voices within Zimbabwe’s gospel music landscape.

Bulawayo residents and visitors alike can expect an atmosphere charged with spiritual energy, powerful music, and a strong sense of community. The partnership with NUST highlights the growing intersection between youth movements and faith-based initiatives, making gospel music more accessible to younger generations.

As anticipation builds, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spots for a night that promises to be a landmark on the city’s gospel calendar.
