Nyasha Mushekwi’s perfect season continues

Zimbabwean forward Nyasha Mushekwi continued to exhibit his prowess in front of goal after firing a brace in Zheijang’s 4-1 victory over Nanjing City yesterday.

Victory propelled Mushekwi’s team to third place on 58 points. Zheijang who are 6 points behind log leaders Meizhou still have a reasonable chance of toppling the log leaders from the summit if they are consistent in their remaining games.

Mushekwi’s brace saw him edge closer towards the golden boot award as he is now 4 goals clear at the summit of the goal scorer’s charts. Mushekwi has been the most proficient in China’s second tier league having scored 21 goals from 26 matches. Second on the scorer’s charts is Nigeria’s Chisom Egbuchunam who has scored 17 goals.

With 8 matches still to play Zheijang have a mathematical chance of moving to the top of the standings if they remain consistent and capitalize on any slip ups by the log leaders. Mushekwi who has been prolific in front of goal this season will be one of the key players in Zheijang’s quest to challenge for league glory and a place in China’s top tier league next season.
