10 Things You Didn’t Know About The Zimbabwean-American Singer Tinashe
She’s making waves worldwide as the new hottest RnB/Pop female artist right now and she happens to be one of our own. At only twenty-two, Tinashe has hit the billboard charts, has traveled around the world performing, and seems to be on everyone’s lips with her dance moves and killer vocals.

1. Her full name is Tinashe Jorgensen Kachingwe
2. She is of Zimbabwean, Irish, Norwegian and Danish descent. Her father was born and raised in Zimbabwe.
3. The RnB/Pop singer started out as a child model before pursuing a career in music.
4. In the early 2000s, Tinashe started her music career in a girl group called The Stunners, the group was signed to Columbia Records and they had their first hit with the iCarly soundtrack called “bubblegum”.
5. The Stunners toured with Justin Bieber on his “My World Tour” as the opening acts.
6. The group broke up and Tinashe went on to launch a solo career when she got signed to RCA records.
7. Before her debut album Aquarius , she released three mixtapes namely, Reverie, In Case We Die and Black Water.
8. Her first single off Aquarius, “2on” peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Top 200, making the single her first Top 40 hit.
9. Tinashe is also an actress, she had a recurring role on two and half men starring alongside Charlie Sheen and starred in the hit movie “The Polar Express” alongside Tom Hanks.
10. Tinashe can sing Shona songs but cannot speak the language.
