Zimbabwe has a number of prolific artists. Many have made names for themselves on the mainstream. They are popular locally and have a large fan base. There are those who have managed to gain a crossover appeal. They have become sensations across the continent and others internationally. Ammara Brown
There are queens of Afro pop in Africa which include Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Yvonne Chaka Chaka and then there’s Ammara Brown. She considers herself as the goddess of Afro Pop and none have contended to the title. Ammara has done a lot of work in the Southern African artists including Mi Casa, Zeus, Zinhle Ngidi and the late Hugh Masekela.
Jah Prayzah
Ever since his collaboration with Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, Jah Prayzah has become a household name. He has gone on to collaborate with other African artists such as Mafikizolo, Yemi Alade and Davido.

While she’s underrated Selmor Mtukudzi is recognised on the continent. She was the Zimbabwean representative for the One Campaign for Strong Girls. She joined other African female artists such as Judith Sephuma, Vanessa Mdee, Waje and Victoria Kimani to name but a few.

Before DJ Stavo started making hits with Zimbabweans, he was pan African. He has mainly collaborated with South African artists.
