Friday night was buzzing with excitement about Mafikizolo’s 20th Annivesary concert, ‘Sendekera Come Let’s Dance’.

Held at the Harare International Conference Centre, the venue was filled up as expected. Thousands of people made their way to the HICC to celebrate with South Africa’s top Afro Pop act, Mafikizolo’s 20 year milestone in music.

The local line up of supporting acts included Alexio Kawara, Ngoni Kambarami, Andy Muridzo, Smiley, Nutty O, Cindy and John Cole.

Alexio was very entertaining and performed a number of his classics that had the crowd going. Ngoni Kambarami was also a very exciting act and proved his continuous relevance in Zimbabwean music.

MTM member and Jah Prayzah protege Andy Muridzo performed his hits that include ‘Dherira’, ‘Dhafudhunda’ and ‘Tichambotenderera’.

Multi award winning local superstar Jah Prayzah showcased his showmanship as he performed his popular hits. With songs such as ‘Mdhara Vachauya’, ‘Watora Mari’ and ‘Gotora’, the hitmaker had back up dancers dressed in sea green and pink. There were mixed feelings towards the performance as he and his dancers weren’t in sync.

Mafikizolo were the highlight of the night as they gave a performance of a lifetime. The group dedicated ‘Meet You At the River’ to their late group member Tebogo Madingoane. They set the stage ablaze with their choreography to hits such as ‘Nihamba Nawe’, ‘Sibongile’ and ‘Tchelete’. Theo Kgosinkwe mentioned that Zimbabwe is Mafikizolo’s second home. He thanked fans for their support over the year’s and promised to return in Spetember.

The South African duo was then joined by Jah Prayzah to perform their latest collaboration ‘Sendekera’.

The Mafikizolo 20th Annivesary concert was a success with so much support from the audiences. The group are preparingfor their forthcoming album which will include their hit single ‘Kucheza’.
