Baba Harare Confirms Christian Faith Despite Returning to Jiti Music

Musician Braveman “Baba Harare” Chizvino has clarified that he remains a committed Christian, even after stepping away from gospel music to return to Jiti, a genre he had paused for a year.
In a statement today, Baba Harare addressed earlier posts in which he highlighted challenges within the gospel industry, citing exploitation and manipulation of artists. He emphasized that his decision to focus on Jiti is a career choice, not a reflection of his faith.
“Let me make this clear: I am a Christian, and I will continue to be. That will never change,” he said.
Baba Harare explained that he believes faith and music can co-exist. “I will be singing Jiti music because I believe the two can co-exist. I can remain true to my faith while also being true to my craft and livelihood,” he stated.
He added that his move is about personal and professional alignment. “Some may not understand that you can be a Christian and still be a talented performer and musician. I choose not to debate that, but instead to focus on what works for me, in my lane, as an individual and as an artist.”
The musician reassured fans of his return to the industry. “I am definitely back to work, back in the industry I love, an industry that has given me many opportunities, and in a genre that I have helped curate and shape. Being a Jiti artist does not make me less of a Christian than someone who solely sings gospel music,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to supporters. “This message is especially for my Jiti family, who have been patient with me as I navigated a difficult personal journey—exploring how my belief system fits with my career as a musician. Thank you for your loyalty, support, and love.”
Baba Harare’s statement underscores his commitment to balancing faith with artistic expression, marking a new chapter in his career as he returns to Jiti music.
