Tinotenda Natasha Munema Crowned Miss Gweru 2025

Twenty-two-year-old Tinotenda Natasha Munema from Mkoba 14 in Gweru was crowned Miss Gweru on Saturday, showcasing beauty, intellect, and talent.
Munema, who works in the hospitality sector, claimed three titles — Miss Gweru 2025, Miss Personality, and Miss Talent — earning a total of US$550 in cash prizes. She described the win as more than personal success, seeing it as a platform to drive meaningful change. “I’m thrilled to be crowned queen. This is my opportunity to reach international platforms,” she said after receiving the crown.
Her advocacy focuses on menstrual health. Munema’s campaign aims to provide menstrual pads to girls who cannot afford them. “Every girl deserves to feel confident, clean, and cared for, especially during her period. Through this platform, I aim to raise awareness, break the stigma, and ensure no girl is held back by something so natural. Let’s model not just fashion, but compassion,” she added.
Malta Moyo was named First Princess, receiving US$300, while Abundance Mudzidzi took Second Princess with a US$200 prize. Petronella Phiri won Miss People’s Choice, and Natasha Magwe was honoured as Super Model.
The event featured live performances from Gweru’s Dollar and the Beat Band, as well as Afro-soul singer Nyasha David. Guest of honour Tanyaradzwa Chimanyiwa praised the organisers for creating a platform that empowers young women.
“This pageant is not just about beauty — it’s about nurturing role models who can inspire other young people and make a positive impact in society,” Chimanyiwa said.
The Miss Gweru winners will represent the city at the national finals in Harare, with the date yet to be announced.
