Absalom Ndlovu Launches Gospel Career with Debut Single “Ndoda”

Rising gospel artiste Absalom Ndlovu has officially launched his music career with the release of his debut single, Ndoda, a heartfelt rendition of a cherished hymn from the Apostolic Faith Mission. Released on Monday, the single marks a significant milestone in his spiritual and musical journey, signalling the arrival of a new voice in Zimbabwe’s contemporary gospel scene.
Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style, Ndlovu reflected on his journey from Bulawayo, where he began singing at 14 and pursued music professionally by 17. Over the years, he has performed as both lead and backing vocalist for prominent gospel artists including Vocal Ex, Mai Mwamuka, Sipho Snowy, Dunamis Men, Takesure Zamar, and Blessing Jeduthun. He credited Harvest Music Zw as a formative platform in his career, expressing gratitude to its executive producers, Bishops Collins and Sarah Nyathi, for nurturing his talent.
Currently based in Harare, Ndlovu describes his music as contemporary gospel, focusing on themes of Christ’s sacrifice, mercy, and grace. “The key message of the project is the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross so that we may be restored from fallen man to child of God,” he said. Ndoda is the first of a series of singles that will form his debut solo album, showcasing his vision to blend spiritual depth with accessible gospel melodies.
While this marks his solo debut, Ndlovu has previously featured on albums by other artists, gaining valuable experience and industry insight. He credited Blessing Jeduthun for providing guidance and support throughout the production process, helping him overcome challenges along the way. “The journey was filled with hurdles, but we sailed through by God’s grace,” he noted.
Ndlovu plans to release another single in December, followed by additional tracks in the coming months, with specific release dates yet to be announced. With Ndoda now available, Absalom Ndlovu is positioning himself as a promising new voice in Zimbabwean gospel music, blending personal faith, vocal talent, and a contemporary sound to reach audiences both locally and beyond.
