Agga Nyabinde and 2 Nice Band Thrill Fans with Electrifying Performances

Afro-fusion musician Agga Nyabinde and his 2 Nice Band have solidified their reputation as one of Zimbabwe’s most energetic live acts, delivering nearly four-hour performances without notable breaks.

Last weekend, the band captivated audiences during back-to-back Valentine’s Day performances at Cresta Oasis Hotel on Friday and Gava Restaurant on Saturday. These shows doubled as birthday celebrations for the band while embracing the spirit of love and unity.

A Night of Hits and Nostalgia

Nyabinde and his band delivered hit after hit, performing songs such as Kufara Kweumwe, Mhanya, Daira, Ndine Chinangwa, Kupururudzirwa, and Huchenjeri from his albums Kushanda, Honai, and Basa iBasa.

They also paid tribute to legendary Zimbabwean musicians, performing renditions of the late Bob Nyabinde’s Mhanya Mbiri and Tsika Dzedu as well as Oliver Mtukudzi’s classic Mhopo. Their versatility extended further with renditions of Simon Chimbetu’s Samatenga and Steve Makoni’s Zvachonyana, much to the delight of the crowd.

Energetic Performance and Audience Engagement

Nyabinde’s dynamic stage presence kept fans engaged, pulling them onto the dance floor. At Gava Restaurant, film producer Mr. JJ, who was reuniting with his family from abroad, took to the stage to express his gratitude for the band’s exceptional performance.

The 2 Nice Band’s sound, deeply rooted in Zimbabwean traditional beats infused with Afro-jazz, resonated with the audience, who reminisced about traditional dances like chinyambera, dinhe, and mhande. Nyabinde credits his father, Bob Nyabinde, an award-winning Afro-jazz legend, as his primary influence.

Having shared the stage with notable artists such as Selmor Mtukudzi, Mbeu, and Dereck Mpofu, Agga continues to make a name for himself in the Zimbabwean music industry. Known for his personal touch, he frequently engages with the audience, often singing the Happy Birthday song for lucky attendees celebrating their special day.

A Growing Musical Legacy

Reflecting on the weekend’s success, Nyabinde expressed his gratitude to fans, saying:

“I would like to thank all the 2 Nice Band followers for their overwhelming support. We are looking forward to more exciting performances in the future.”

He acknowledged the enthusiastic dancers and singers in the audience who support the Nyabinde brand, emphasizing his commitment to keeping his father’s musical legacy alive.

“We are trying to fill the huge void left by the late Bob Nyabinde, and by the grace of God, we are gaining more acceptance and improving every time we step on stage,” he added.

With their growing fanbase and electrifying live performances, Agga Nyabinde and the 2 Nice Band continue to cement their place as one of Zimbabwe’s must-watch live acts.
